Who can use the Scheme?
Essentially, anyone over the age of 18 who has a postal address including the word Gosberton or Quadring and finds themselves needing the help of a good neighbour.
How much does it cost?
The Scheme is free to use where no costs are incurred by the Volunteer, i.e. if you ask someone to pop in for a chat it costs no more than the price of a tea bag and a dash of milk.
Where the task you request involves driving, e.g. a lift to an appointment or collection of a prescription, you are asked to pay the Volunteer 45p for each mile, subject to a minimum charge of £1, plus cover any parking charges.
How do I become a Scheme User?
Before you can use The Scheme a couple of Scheme Committee Members will pop round and meet with you to give you more details about what we do and ask you some questions about your situation.
We reserve the right to decline a potential User where we feel it appropriate to do so to ensure the safety and security of all parties.
To request to become a user call 07808 326511.
Will you always be able to help me?
We will always try to cover any reasonable request from a User, but we do operate on a first-come-first-served basis and may not always have a Volunteer available on the day or at the time you request.
If we can’t meet your request we will let you know as soon as possible so as you can make alternative arrangements.
